“The Death of Shopping Centers”, “Retail on the Decline”, “Ghost Malls”! Frightening to think about isn’t it? These are only a few of the apocalyptic stories which mall operators encounter on a daily basis. At SMS, we believe that this is exaggerated. However the industry is changing and to survive operators now need ways to bring customers to their properties by ensuring an excellent shopping experience with ideal tenant mixing and high security standards. We know that increased traffic equals greater potential for revenue.
Unfortunately, using an old, inaccurate people counting system, or relying on approximate data such as beacons and cell phone tracking, does not guarantee success.
