Since its inception 40 years ago, The Lovers Family of Stores—aka the TLA Acquisition Corp—has grown to become a leader in its industry, with a current brick-and-mortar presence in Washington, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee and California.
From their headquarters on the American West Coast, the company’s team members operate and oversee the performance of some 43 stores under three different banners. Through the years, footfall traffic data has been a critical component of their strategic planning and decision-making process. As their people counting equipment reached the end of its lifecycle, The Lovers Family of Stores once again partnered with a name they knew they could trust. Read on to see what this people-focused company has to say about choosing Storetraffic.
What problem needed to be resolved?
We had been running into the issue of inaccurate counts with old technology beam breaks, hardware that was no longer available, and a device that has no logic to it to meet today’s needs.
What were you looking for with a new people counting solution?
We needed a new system that we could grow into, that would enable us to learn more about our traffic, rather than just a number.
How did having an older footfall system affect business?
With an older system that was EOL, we needed a new solution or traffic numbers were going to fall off our metrics. This would have greatly affected how we calculate our ROI on marketing for each store.
Why is people counting essential for you?
If we market to a region, we need to know the foot traffic. If sales go down, but traffic is steady, it really teaches us that we need to either be working to upsell or get a new offering to sell to our customers.
Why did you choose to partner with Storetraffic instead of other people counting providers?
Storetraffic has been great to work with over the years. When the system is working, no one has t o touch it. It just works! Just as their system does, so do they.
How did SMS solution make the difference?
We were able to deploy new traffic counters to 43 retail stores. The planning process started in mid-November and was complete by the end of the year. I don’t know many companies willing to support a customer through the holidays as they did.
Would you recommend SMS and why?
Yes. It’s the people. The people at Storetraffic are what make Storetraffic great.
